About
The Future of Heat Initiative will award at least five (5) grants of up to $10,000 for research projects on topics related to energy distribution systems and their regulation. Applications will be considered until all funding is committed.
Eligibility Criteria
The principal applicant must be affiliated with an academic institution as a faculty member, postdoctoral researcher, or full-time research fellow.
Applicants may collaborate with non-profit organizations, government entities, or for-profit organizations, provided that the principal applicant remains the lead investigator and primary recipient of grant funds.

Example Research Topics
Applicants are encouraged to propose research topics of their choosing, provided they align with the purpose of the grant. FoHI has prepared an example list of research topics, and proposals that build on or directly address topics from this list are particularly welcome.
As part of the review process, applicants may be invited to participate in a brief Zoom call with FoHI staff to discuss their proposal prior to an award decision.
